Crystal Climate is a simple weather site made up of modules which can be moved, hidden, or displayed according to the liking of the registered user. The background color and text color of the module and/or it's title can also be set to your preference. Click on "Register" on the menu bar and enter your desired username and a password. Retype the password for confirmation and then click "Submit". If your registration is successful you will be logged in to the site. From this point you may make adjustments to the layout as desired. Any adjustments you make to the following items are saved automatically. When you return and log in these new settings will be loaded.

I have built a feature into the website which refreshes the page every 20 minutes from the time it loads. This allows you to leave the page open without haveing to worry about refreshing it manually. However, I have found that once in awhile the timer is interupted by some unknown process and needs to be refreshed. This can be accomplished by clicking the browsers refresh button. Eventually I will add a refresh button that will only refresh the content without reloading the complete page.

For non-registered users -- To select and view station data, click on "Select Station" on the menu bar. Three select boxes will be displayed. Start by first selecting the country in the first box, then select the province/state in the second box, followed by the actual station in the third box. The station data will be automatically loaded. You can close this window by clicking on "Close" or you may select another station if desired.

Keep in mind that the following items work only for registered users.

To move a module, left click on the title of that module and, while holding the mouse button down, drag it to a new location. Once it is in place let up on the mouse button. The coordinates of the new location will be recorded.

To hide, display, change colors for a module, and/or set your prefered station click on "Preferences" on the menu bar.

Hidding or displaying -- On the left is a list of available modules. A check in the checkbox indicates that that module is set to display while the absence of a check indicates that it will be hidden. Click the item to check or uncheck the checkbox.

Changing background, text colors, and borders -- In the center of the preferences window are items used for changing color settings. The backgrounds of both the module and it's title bar can be set to transparent by placing a check in the checkbox next to the respective item. Text and background colors can be set by clicking in any of the textboxes titled 'Color:'. A small color picker will appear. (Thanks to www.jscolor.com for this little piece of code.) Click or drag anywhere within the color picker to select your desired color. You can lighten or darken by using the intensity bar on the right of the picker. Once you let up on the mouse button your color is automatically saved. Borders may be added to the modules by placing a check in the box titled 'Include Border' under Module Border. You may also change the color of the border by doing the same as the above mentioned for background colors and text colors. If you desire a thicker border enter a higher number in the input box titled 'Width'.

Setting your prefered station -- On the right of the preferences window are three select boxes used to select your prefered or default station. Start by first selecting the country in the first box, then select the province/state in the second box, followed by the actual station in the third box.

Click on "Close" to close the preferences window.

To select and view station data without saving it as a prefered station, click on "Select Station" on the menu bar. Three select boxes will be displayed. Start by first selecting the country in the first box, then select the province/state in the second box, followed by the actual station in the third box. The station data will be automatically loaded. You can close this window by clicking on "Close" or you may select another station if desired. This will not overwrite your default station. You can reload your default station by clicking "Load Default Station" on the menu bar or by clicking the refresh button on your browser which will rewrite the whole page.
